Everyday i read that XYZ companies are coming to India with JV for opening up a retail outlet. What bothers me is that inspite of the fact that these companies are big their own way, but when it comes to identifying a location for opening up their stores, they lack vision and market intelligence. I get a feeling they go just by instinct and/or what relators have offered them. Of my last two years in real estate field of acquisition and research i have not seen any company or individual other than Mr. Kishore of Pantaloon spening some time with Builders and Developers and understanding the pulse of the market and making intelligent choice on Location.
